Ellie Wishes Pops a Happy Birthday

Ellie painted a birthday sign for her Pops today.

She got all dressed up in her cupcake onesie, polka dot bow, pink tutu, pink tights and purple boots!

We are so excited for Nanie and Pops to get here on Thursday!

Ellie made sure to kiss up Pops' poster for him.

And hug it.

We love you, Pops! Happy Birthday!!

Cold

It's a little cold here today.

Birthday Pops

HaPpY BiRtHdAy, PoPs!!!

Baby Push Ups

Look at her go!

Big girl pushin' up!

When Ellie sees a toy she wants, she will push up, roll back on her knees a bit, and lurch forward. It doesn't really get her anywhere. She normally has to squirm and scoot, but it sure is cute!

Big biiiite.

I don't see them yet, but I'm pretty sure she's getting more teeth. She has been biting EVERYTHING!

WOW!

What happened???! After weeks and weeks of "forcing" Ellie to eat, she's finally ASKING for it. She's tried just about everything we've offered her the last few days, and the other night, she ate FOUR baby bowl fulls in one sitting. She will actually take food from me now and not just her Daddy!! I'm in shock at the BIG change.

Birthday Fun

Brice got me this SUPER warm and comfy jacket for my birthday. I've been wanting this jacket. It is one of those with down on the inside, and it seriously feels like I'm wrapped up in my comforter when I wear it. And I LOVE our down comforter.

Bring on the cold! I can handle it now!

Since I was too tired for birthday dinner on Friday, we went out for birthday lunch on Saturday. We had yummy pizzas from CPK. Thanks to the in-laws for treating us!! We can't wait for y'all to be here this week so we can actually have dinner with you.

Brice fixed my windshield wipers on the way to lunch. He's so good at taking care of me!

Turning 27

I turned 27 at 12:56pm Houston time today. One of my favorite birthday moments was when Ellie let me HOLD HER like a little baby. She usually fights being cuddled or rocked, but we had a sweet moment where she sucked her thumb and snuggled up next to me. I made Brice take a picture since it is such a rare occasion!

The other day, I told my mom I was craving ice cream cake. She sent me a text telling me my ice cream cake would be ready for pick-up at noon from Graeter's. Chocolate cake with chocolate chip ice cream. I've had so much today that I feel sick now, but devouring all that cake was definitely a favorite birthday moment.

Nothing makes you feel old like getting on thyroid medicine for your birthday. Ha! I've been struggling with fatigue for awhile now and finally went to the doctor about it this week. It turns out I have hypothryoidism. It is possibly related to my pregnancy with Ellie. The medicine is helping already, but I still feel like a zombie at times. Another favorite birthday moment was getting a nap in this evening while Brice entertained Ellie!

I took a raincheck on birthday dinner. I was just too tired tonight. Even so, Brice prayed a sweet prayer over me, thanking God for my life. And I couldn't help but get butterflies in my belly as I thought about how wonderful this last year has been! God has blessed me BIG.

Thank you to all my wonderful family and friends for making me feel so special on my birthday!

Caleb and Ellie

The Bishops' little boy, Caleb, came to play yesterday. He's five months old, and Ellie is seven months old.

Look at them checking each other out! Ha!

Ellie was VERY interested in everything Caleb touched. She tried to steal everything he had!

Although, I did catch a few sweet moments of sharing.

Uh oh. Caleb decided he was done with that toy...

So, Ellie decided she was going to be fussy, too!

Caleb LOVED the entertainer. It was so funny to me because Caleb had so much fun bouncing and twisting in this thing. Ellie rarely bounces and has never cared to twist around in it. Ellie seems to pay more attention to the link toys than Caleb does, though.

OK and I'm in love with Caleb's fuzzy stick'em up hair!

I'm also in love with the continuous feature on my camera. I can capture great facial expressions that way!

What a cutie!

I thought it was fun that Caleb always, always responds to his name. Ellie will respond to her name most of the time, but she usually goes right back to whatever she was doing like I disturbed her or something by calling her. When you call Caleb's name, he looks up all curious about what you are doing.

Yesterday worked out well for me because Ellie took a nap when Caleb wanted to eat, and Caleb took a nap when Ellie wanted to eat. So, I actually got good one on one time with each of them, although I was a little sad they didn't get much time interacting with each other.

Caleb sat up in Ellie's pink bouncer and watched a Praise Baby DVD. He really seemed to enjoy it, and he actually fussed a bit when a song would end.

The poor guy was surrounded by pink with Ellie's chair, her crib, and most of her toys. I let him hang on to his blue blanket so he'd feel a little more manly.

When Ellie woke up, I tried to get the babies to play together again, but Caleb was about ready for his own nap!
Calvin babysat Ellie while I put Caleb down in the crib.

My poor girl needs a haircut!

Happy Baby

At last! I got a picture of her smiling AND showing off those two beautiful teeth!

Thanks, Leyvas!

Thanks for Ellie's new outfit, Michael and Malorie! It is super cute and warm!

Family Fun

Look at her pushin' up! We were all crowded in our bathroom the other night, getting Ellie's bath ready. She was chillin' on the bathroom rug while we filled up the tub.

"Extra bubbles, please!"

After getting Ellie all clean, Ellie and Daddy had their regular evening bonding time.

They told each other all about their days.

And Ellie tried to be like Daddy when he started his homework on the laptop.

Quick family pics before bed!

As soon as Ellie went to sleep, Calvin took over her spot!

Our Sweet Pea Tries Peas

Awhile ago, when Ellie was still in my tummy, we called her our little Sweet Pea. So, I was VERY excited to let her try peas! I even brought out her Sweet Pea bib (thanks to Ellie's great grandpa!) for the occasion.

It was also my first experience with a Food Mill (thanks to the Wellums!!). It worked well with the peas so I didn't have to worry about the skins. I made a nice and smooth mushy mess, and I was just sure Ellie was going to love it.

First taste.
Um peas turned out not to be a favorite...

OK so actually she hated them. She scrunched up her face in ways I've never seen before. She pushed away the spoon, and I think I even saw a tear or two.

That's her pushing away the spoon, not grabbing for it!

Poor girl! She stuck her thumb in her mouth so I wouldn't feed her anymore peas!

I can't believe our Sweet Pea doesn't like peas!!!

Musician in the making?

I'm guessing we need to save up for music lessons one day. This girl LOVES her piano toy.

Baby Boots

I'm LOVIN' these boots on Ellie. They are warm, easy to get on, and adorable! Thanks, Nanie and Pops!

Swimsuit in January

I realize there's been snow on the ground this week, and there's even more snow predicted for tomorrow, but doesn't Ellie look absolutely adorable in her swimsuit???!

I saw it at Children's Place and told my mom all about how I was going to buy it for Ellie in time for summer. Well, my mom totally surprised me and had it shipped to me the other day.

She has some room to grown length-wise, so I think it will be PERFECT for hot summer days. Of course, on days like this, it feels like hot summer days will never come again!

Ruffles and polka dots and baby chub. Love it love it love it!!

I get to kiss her everyday. And if Brice didn't restrain me, I'd wake her up in the middle of the night to kiss her then, too.

"Mommmm! Stop with the kisses and the pictures already."

"I'm not so sure this is swimmin' or sunbathin' weather, Mommy..."

Two Front Teeth

Our little monkey

Bananas! All this baby wants is bananas! What a little monkey. I didn't have any bibs clean today, so I just went for it. We had a messy, banana-smashin' morning. It looks like there's going to be another Land obsessed with Nanie's banana pudding. I hope you're not sick of making it yet, Nanie!
